Let's provide scholarships for children who have lost a parent in the line of duty

New York Mets pitcher and 2018 Roberto Clemente Award nominee Steven Matz started the TRU32 program in 2016 as a way to thank those who risk their lives defending and saving others. This year, his goal is to expand it to include scholarships for the children of those who've lost their lives while serving.

Fund Two Scholarships in 2018

Each day, members of the Armed Forces and first responders like NYPD, NYFD, and EMTs make incredible sacrifices for our freedom and safety. Each year, Steven honors first responders – visiting and spending time with them, and inviting them to be guests at Citi Field. He's expanding the program this year to create a scholarship fund for youth who have lost a parent in the line of duty. This project is to fund two scholarships.
