Big League Impact, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with a mission to help meet basic human needs like food, clean water, medical care and shelter, in an effort to restore dignity and hope to people in the local community and around the globe. Started by St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright in 2013 as a fantasy football fundraiser, Big League Impact now works with over 70 Major League players to raise and distribute funds to the causes they hold close to their hearts. Big League Impact has grown from coast-to-coast and has raised more than $4.3 million for causes around the world.
Adam himself has gone to the Dominican Republic and Haiti, working in partnership with organizations like Food For The Hungry/Striking Out Poverty and Water Mission. Helping provide clean water, resources and fundamental aid to thousands of people, while sharing the joy of baseball. Over the past couple of years, Adam & Jenny Wainwright have fundraised to help open and operate a hospital in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti.
Adam was also instrumental in gathering league-wide support for Big League Impact's partnership with MLB and Garth Brooks' Teammates for Kids Foundation — the Home Plate Project, which worked with players to raise $900,000 and distribute more than 3.6 million meals to 25,000 kids in each MLB city. Most recently, Adam & Jenny Wainwright partnered with The Happy Givers and Yadier Molina's Fundación 4 to donate $15,000 for Haiti earthquake relief.
